Welcome to the new website!
Welcome to our new website and the first of our blog entries! It’s so wonderful to finally be able to launch this as its been some time in the making. Like so many business owners I spent alot of my time during the lock down not only cherishing my family and friends but thinking often of my clients and staff. I’ve been teaching Pilates for some years now and it really struck me how interconnected we all are. I became very aware of the community of people who attend the classes and my connection to them. I wished only for their good health and happiness. Producing this website has come from that wish.
Purpose of this website
During the lock down I sent a weekly email and video link to the online classes. The emails contained words of encouragement and advice to help guide people along a path that they could travel through the pandemic. I wished for them to stay calm and peaceful as best they could. To stay healthy and choose habits that would reinforce their immune systems, not damage it.
Exercise makes you happy!
To achieve all of these aims requires a very positive frame of mind. Pilates for me offers a very easy pathway to achieving this. Exercise makes me happy! Even as a child I used to dance and do exercises – probably like most children! My mother being a ballerina and having performed in the Royal Ballet was my inspiration. I wanted to be like her. I used to go up to my room every night before bed and practice stretches and exercises to improve my technique. As I grew up I wanted to share the joy I experience from movement and exercise with others so that they too could find their own path to health and happiness.
The Journey to Better Health & Happiness
So this website is really an attempt (with the help of some very gifted people including Martin Gillon of Turkey Red Media; Andy Watson of Red Paint; and Justyna Maria, photographer) to capture a glimpse of the path that Pilates offers. Pilates can be much more than just exercises. For me it offers health, nourishment for my well being, improved work-life balance, positivity, creativity, joy! This path is open to us all. We just need to find some guides who have walked the path and who have experience of the end result. This path will ultimately bring you more joy and happiness, health and prosperity, peace and calm. By nourishing yourself you nourish your family and all those who rely on you.
I’ll do my best to continue to guide you but know that we journey together as it is through your kindness that I can continue to learn. By allowing me to teach you, by allowing me to write to you, you offer me continuous inspiration to go onwards along my own path to happiness. So thank you. The journey is ongoing for all of us as we continually learn more about our own body and mind. Let’s enjoy it together!
